The largest city in the Champagne-Ardenne, Reims is inextricably linked with this region’s famous sparkling wine. In fact, the city’s symbol - its huge Gothic cathedral - has a window depicting the monk who invented champagne: Dom Perignon. This coronation cathedral of French kings for around a millennium also has stained-glass windows designed by Marc Chagall.
A mosaic detailing champagne production also features on an Art Nouveau building with a barrel-shaped door on Rue de Mars, next to the 17th-century city hall.
But it’s the Reims champagne houses that are stars of the show. Many big brands are headquartered here and some including Pommery and Taittinger offer cellar tours in their underground chalk caves. You can also visit Veuve-Clicquot by appointment. Of course, no tour would be complete without a champagne tasting session, so you may leave feeling a little heady.
As you’d expect of such a prestigious city, there’s no shortage of restaurants, bars and shops including Galeries Lafayette and the Espace d’Erlon shopping centre. Tree-lined Place d’Erlon is considered the heart of the city and is home to the Reims Christmas markets.
Paris Orly Airport is the closest, so chances are you’ll arrive by car. See Booking.com for a great range of Reims accommodation that include parking.

We find Reims always a safe environment to wander around. A little bit for everyone. Good shopping, good restaurants and an excellent market on Saturdays.
There is an awful lot to look at but just sit and people watch with a glass of champagne.
Reims is good for just chilling

The town has some very nice older French architecture and is very walkable. You can find everything you need within a few hundred meters. We didn’t use public transportation but we saw trams, buses and the rail station is an easy five minute walk.

The cathedral was beautiful and our cellar tour was fun. We found the main square / fountains and took the tram for a trip around and about. It was all very lovely with more than 1 glass of champagne to help things along!

Nice city that can be toured in 1 full day.
Nice city that can be toured in 1 full day. The main attraction is the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Make sure to take the Pommery tour champagne experience (no need to do Villa Demoiselle). Also make sure to visit the automobile museum. Have dinner or lunch around the Place Drouet d'Erlon (which is 5 min walk from the main train station). You can also visit the Basilique Saint-Remi (10 min walk away from Pommery).

A very good place to stay for Champagne lovers and to use as a base to explore the region and is not too far from Epernay by car or train. It also has some very fine examples of Art Deco and Art Nouveau architecture. The cathedral is not to be missed and the Crayères at Ruinart an UNESCO site

Perfect place for a city break.
Perfect place for a city break. A lovely city with a beautiful Cathedral and local church. Excellent shops, good balance for all budgets. Wonderful, traditional bistro/brasserie French restaurants.
Great city vibe with lots of entertainment, night life and wonderful cafes.
Check out the boulangeries and local cafes. Excellent cakes and pastries.
Lovely people, happy to speak English if you don't speak French.
Great welcome from english speaking receptionist(male with glasses), easy check in, compact but functional room, everything clean/spotless- credit to the cleaners!, room 409 3rd floor- quiet, lovely night of peacefull rest, secure gated parking, hotel is just off main routes around Reims- easy to get to, room costs us 67GBP, which is fair, breakfast was £20 for 2+1child, good choice of foods, again-exceptional cleaniness standards in breakfast room
The hotel felt clean and airy, in a quiet modern park on the outskirts of Reims close to the tramline that gives access to the city centre. The room was comfortable and well appointed, the bathroom was very clean with walk-in shower and hairdryer. The breakfast was great - plenty of choice of bread, pastries, cereals, fruit, meats/cheeses, coffees, juice etc.
Pauline's apartment is an actual penthouse! From our lofty 3rd floor vantage point we could look out the balcony windows and marvel at the nearby Reims Cathedral as well as look up and down the beautiful, bustling tree-lined streets below.
Check-in was easy, the accommodations were first rate, and the location was ideal Well done, Pauline!
Exceptionally convenient when travelling up from the Alps to the UK.
Very clean, and well-kitted out rooms.
Staff supremely friendly and helpful.
Quiet and comfortable (beds amazing).
Well located near a huge supermarket and several places to eat.
This will be our 'go to' hotel the next time we travel through France.
Fantastic flat in the city centre. We stayed as a stopover on the way to the alps. A nice change from a hotel.
Top facilities with fresh drinks and milk in the fridge.
A very useful washing machine and lovely comfortable beds.
We would definitely stay again.
Easy parking right outside the flat.
The hotel was well located close to the main road past Reims but easy walking distance to nearby restaurants. The adjoining rooms were comfortable with air conditioning and good showers. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a good range of food for breakfast which was kept topped up.
We were travelling from England to the south of France and this was a great stop as so close to the toll road. A little outside Reims but we got a taxi in or you could drive. huge supermarket and petrol nearby. Very good breakfast and excellent value for a basic overnight stop.
The hotel is in a great location just off of the main street. That said, the rooms were very quiet. Have stayed in Reims many times and this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in.
Clean and comfortable rooms, a good bar and courtyard area. Very impressed
It’s a great place to stay as a stopover. Also, if you have a car and would like save on expensive hotels, you can book here and it’s still near the center, or to go to nearby towns, this is a good place, too. Plenty of free parking!
Very clean. Better facilities than a straight hotel room, You can make a drink or breakfast in your studio. Excellent underground secure parking. Very good value for money and super close to Reims centre. Staff helpful.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, kindly reserved us a car parking space as we arrived in our campervan. Location was good, about a ten minute walk to Reims centre. The hotel was clean and had a 24 hour lobby.
The location was excellent, right in the middle of Reims where we could find all the shops and restaurants. The staff was really nice at the check-in and check-out. I recommend that hotel for a short or long stay.
The studio is brilliant! plenty of space and very comfy. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Reims. The location is excellent and very close to the train station and the city centre of the city.
the hotel is situated is a busy street but our room was quiet. We chose it to be near the city centre and with a car park next door. It felt newly decorated and very clean. Restaurants were very nearby.
Comfortable hotel for a 'pit-stop' as we travelled through France. The city centre of Reims was within easy reach. Room was clean and functional. Staff were friendly and it was an easy stay.
Very nice room in a nice hotel. The rooftop is fun to get an overview of the city, location is right by the park and the main street of Reims. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great location. Easy check in / check out. Clean room. Bed was comfortable. TV had some English channels which is unusual in France. Shops and cafes very close by.
Excellent location for those travelling across France.
A convenient stop-off, with great staff and a solid breakfast to get you underway in the morning.
